Agent Ron Slavin made the accusations in a Wednesday interview with 105.3 The Fan in Dallas, claiming that Cincinnati officials had knowledge of Sorsby's gambling conduct before the school continued to play him. The remarks directed scrutiny toward Cincinnati after Texas Tech had previously been widely criticized for its own handling of the Sorsby situation.

Cincinnati Issues Denial

Cincinnati responded to the accusations on Wednesday, flatly rejecting Slavin's characterization of the school's conduct. The university stated it would never knowingly play an athlete who had violated NCAA gambling rules.

The agent's comments may carry consequences beyond the court of public opinion. Slavin's accusations against Cincinnati could have a direct bearing on an existing NIL lawsuit connected to Sorsby, with legal observers noting that his college career looks set to remain a source of litigation even as his playing days have ended.
