Welcome to Sports Index, a platform operated by Sports Index LLC ("Sports Index," "we," "our," or "us"). These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the Sports Index website, applications, and services (the "Service").
By accessing or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms.
1. Overview of the Service
Sports Index is a sports content aggregation and organization platform. We provide an organized memory layer for sports by indexing multimedia, cross-platform content semantically by topic over time. Users can create, curate, and publish structured content including:
- Collections (3-column grid-based layouts with blocks for text, media, data, and embeds)
- Timelines (ordered, date-based sequences of content around a theme or narrative)
- Topic pages (community-driven pages aggregating content by subject such as a player, team, league, or event)
- Creator portfolios (personal profile pages showcasing a user's body of work)
- Data visualizations (charts, tables, and statistical displays)
- Third-party embeds (content from platforms such as X/Twitter, YouTube, Instagram, TikTok, and others)
- Media uploads (images, videos, and other files)
You understand that content you publish on Sports Index is public by default.

4. User-Generated Content ("UGC")
"Content" includes collections, timelines, topic page contributions, text, data, images, videos, media uploads, and any other materials you create or upload to the Service.

You retain ownership of the content you create.
4.2 License You Grant to Sports Index

- Host, store, reproduce, modify (e.g., for formatting, thumbnail generation, or responsive display)
- Display, communicate, publish
- Distribute through our platform
- Create and display derivative works only for platform functionality (e.g., content previews, featured cards, topic page aggregation, search indexing, and semantic embeddings)
This license ends when you delete the content except:

- Not violate publicity rights (athletes' image and likeness rights)
5. Platform Features
5.1 Collections
Sports Index provides a collection editor with a 3-column grid layout system and a library of block types (text, media, embeds, data visualizations, and more). Users acknowledge that collections may be publicly displayed, featured on topic pages, or included in discovery feeds.
5.2 Topic Pages and Tagging
Sports Index allows users to create and contribute to topic pages organized by subject (player, team, league, event, sport, etc.). Content is associated with topics through a tagging system. You acknowledge that:
- Topic pages aggregate content from multiple contributors
- Tags you apply to content may be visible to other users
- Topic pages may be claimed and curated by verified entities (athletes, teams, leagues)
- Content you tag to a topic page may remain on that page even if you delete your account, provided other users have also tagged it
5.3 Creator Portfolios and Athlete Profiles
Users may maintain a portfolio page showcasing their content. Athletes and other entities may claim topic pages as their primary public profile. Verified claims grant additional editorial control over a topic page.
5.4 Timelines
Timelines are curated, ordered sequences of content. Timelines may include date metadata, captions, and content from multiple sources.
5.5 Data and Datasets
Users may create and publish datasets, data tables, charts, and statistical visualizations. You represent that any data you upload is accurate to the best of your knowledge and does not violate any third-party rights.
5.6 Rankings and Discovery
Sports Index may display leaderboards, trending content, featured collections, and contributor rankings. These systems may change at any time.
5.7 Third-Party Embeds
Sports Index allows embedding content from third-party platforms (e.g., X/Twitter, YouTube, Instagram, TikTok, ESPN, Substack). When you embed or interact with third-party content:
- That content remains subject to the third party's terms of service
- We do not control third-party content availability; embeds may become unavailable if the original content is removed
- Third parties may collect data according to their privacy policies when their embeds load
5.8 Library and Bookmarks
Users may save content to a personal library and bookmark items for reference. Library organization and bookmarks are private unless you choose to make portions of your library public through your portfolio.
6. Subscriptions and Payments
Sports Index offers tiered subscription plans:
- Free tier: Create timelines, tag content, build topic pages, and use core platform features
- Creator tier: Enhanced portfolio features, custom branding, and analytics
