Sports Index is a user-generated content platform where users create and publish narrative objects, including:

• Text blocks
• Media uploads
• Data blocks
• Timelines and structured metadata
• 3-column grid-based narrative layouts
• Derived or forked narrative content

You understand that narrative objects are public by default.

2. Eligibility

To use Sports Index, you must:

• Be at least 13 years old (COPPA compliant)
• Be a U.S. resident
• Have legal capacity to enter a binding agreement

Accounts may be removed for violations.

3. Account Registration

You must create an account using:

• Email
• Username
• Password

You are responsible for maintaining account security.

You agree not to:

• Impersonate others
• Use misleading usernames
• Share account access
• Attempt unauthorized access

4. User-Generated Content ("UGC")

"Content" includes narrative objects, text, data, images, videos, comments, and any other materials you upload.

4.1 You Own Your Content

You retain ownership of the content you create.

4.2 License You Grant to Sports Index

By posting content, you grant Sports Index LLC a worldwide, nonexclusive, royalty-free, sublicensable, transferable license to:

• Host, store, reproduce, modify (e.g., for formatting)
• Display, communicate, publish
• Distribute through our platform
• Create and display derivative works only for platform functionality (e.g., narrative lineage, forks, previews)

This license ends when you delete the content except:

• Derivative/forked objects by others may persist
• Backups/archival copies may persist for a reasonable time

4.3 Prohibited Content

You may not upload:

• Copyrighted content without permission
• Defamatory, abusive, or hateful content
• Pornographic or exploitative material
• Malware or harmful code
• False data intended to manipulate rankings or systems

4.4 Media Upload Requirements

Any media uploaded must:

• Be owned by you or properly licensed
• Not include logos or materials you do not have rights to (important for sports team logos)
• Not violate publicity rights (athletes' image rights)

4.5 Comments

Users may post comments on indexes. Comments are subject to the same content policies as other user-generated content. Threaded replies inherit the visibility of the parent index.

5. Platform Features

5.1 Narrative Object System

Sports Index provides:

• A structured narrative object builder
• A 3×3 grid layout system
• Timelines and subject metadata
• Derivation, embedding, and lineage tools

Users acknowledge these structures may store content in graph form, generate derivative relationships, and influence platform rankings.

5.2 Rankings / Exposure

Sports Index may display:

• Leaderboards
• Trending indexes
• Creator rankings

These systems may change at any time.

5.3 Third-Party Embeds

Sports Index allows embedding content from third-party platforms (e.g., X/Twitter posts). When you embed or interact with third-party content:

• That content remains subject to the third party's terms of service
• We do not control third-party content availability
• Third parties may collect data according to their privacy policies

5.4 Bookmarks

Users may bookmark indexes for personal reference. Bookmarks are private and visible only to the bookmarking user.

6. Subscriptions & Payments

Sports Index offers paid subscriptions.

6.1 Billing

Payments are handled by a third-party processor (e.g., Stripe). We do not store full credit card information.

6.2 Refunds

All subscription purchases are non-refundable, except where required by law.

6.3 Price Changes

Subscription prices may change with notice.

7. Content Moderation

Sports Index may:

• Remove or restrict content
• Suspend or terminate accounts
• Limit visibility of content
• Enforce metadata integrity rules

We may remove content for any reason, including legal compliance.

8. Acceptable Use Policy

You agree not to:

• Scrape data or reverse-engineer systems
• Use automated posting tools
• Upload harmful software
• Interfere with platform operations
• Mine or misuse structured metadata
• Engage in harassment, including sports-related hostility

9. Intellectual Property Rights

All platform code, design, layout, patents, trademarks, and methods (including the narrative object system and 3-column grid structure) are the proprietary property of Sports Index LLC.

Users may not:

• Copy or replicate platform functionality
• Clone index structures
• Reproduce proprietary features

10. DMCA Compliance

Sports Index respects intellectual property rights. If you believe your copyrighted work has been infringed, submit a written notice to our designated DMCA agent with:

• Your physical or electronic signature
• Identification of the copyrighted work
• Identification of the infringing material and its location
• Your contact information
• A statement of good faith belief
• A statement under penalty of perjury that the information is accurate

11. Disclaimers

Sports Index provides the service "as-is" with no warranties.

We do not guarantee:

• Availability or uptime
• Any particular ranking or exposure

12. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law:

• Sports Index LLC is not liable for damages arising from use of the service.
• Our maximum liability is $100 or the amount you paid in the past 12 months, whichever is greater.

13. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your account for:

• Policy violations
• Legal requests
• Security concerns
• Inactivity

14. Governing Law & Arbitration

These Terms are governed by North Carolina law.

All disputes must be resolved by binding arbitration on an individual basis. No class actions allowed.

15. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Sports Index LLC, its officers, directors, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising from:

• Your use of the Service
• Your content or user-generated materials
• Your violation of these Terms
• Your violation of any third-party rights

16. Changes to Terms

We may modify these Terms at any time. Continued use constitutes acceptance.
