Auburn Caps Dominant Recruiting Weekend With Multiple Commits, Flips
The Tigers added several prospects to their 2027 class on Sunday, highlighted by a running back flip from West Virginia.
Auburn closed out a dominant recruiting weekend on Sunday by securing multiple commitments and flips, further bolstering what has become a top-10 recruiting class. The day's activity centered on both offense and defense, with the Tigers adding talent at several positions.
The headline addition was three-star running back Moni Williams, who flipped his pledge from West Virginia to Auburn. Williams, a 6-foot-1, 200-pound back from Memphis (Tenn.) Southwind, had committed to the Mountaineers on June 12 — just nine days before switching his allegiance to the Tigers. His original decision came over offers from Vanderbilt, Wisconsin, Ole Miss, Auburn and a host of other programs, and he had visited Morgantown earlier in the month before ultimately changing course.
In-State Athlete Also Joins the Class
Auburn also landed three-star athlete Preston Williams out of Skipperville (Ala.) George W. Long, a versatile in-state prospect who committed to the Tigers on Sunday. Williams is described as a lifelong Auburn fan who fulfilled a dream by committing to the program.
The Tigers' recruiting surge extended to the defensive side of the ball as well, with Auburn also securing a safety commitment as part of the weekend's haul. The flurry of activity underscored Auburn's momentum on the recruiting trail heading into the summer evaluation period.
Williams — whose first name is also listed as Khamoni in some reports — represents a significant flip for Auburn out of the Big 12. The Memphis product out of Southwind gives the Tigers another running back option in the 2027 class. His commitment, coming less than two weeks after he had pledged to West Virginia, illustrated the continued pull Auburn's staff has been able to exert on prospects throughout the country.
