5-Star OL Albert Simien Sets Friday Commitment Date, Texas A&M Favored
The 2027 interior offensive lineman from Lake Charles, Louisiana, will announce his college choice on June 26.
Albert Simien, a 5-star interior offensive lineman in the 2027 recruiting class, has announced he will commit on Friday, June 26, with Texas A&M standing as the frontrunner to land the elite prospect.
Simien attends Sam Houston High School in Lake Charles, Louisiana, and is regarded as one of the top trench prospects in his class. His decision adds to a wave of elite recruits coming off the board this summer.
Texas A&M Leads, But Competition Remains
Texas A&M holds a 'slight' edge in the recruitment of Simien heading into his commitment announcement. The Aggies are not alone in their pursuit, however, as LSU, Nebraska, and Notre Dame are also among the programs involved.
The commitment date was confirmed by Rivals' Hayes Fawcett, who reported that Simien is prepared to take his name off the board this week. Notre Dame, which has pursued Simien as a target, will be monitoring the announcement along with the other finalists.
Simien's decision is expected on Friday, June 26. Should he choose Texas A&M, the Aggies would secure one of the premier offensive line commitments in the 2027 cycle.
