Michigan Lands 4-Star LB Frederrick Ford From Mississippi, Beating Out SEC Schools

Michigan football added a significant piece to its 2027 recruiting class on Thursday, securing a commitment from four-star linebacker Frederrick Ford of Greenwood, Mississippi. Ford chose the Wolverines over a group of finalists that included Tennessee, Mississippi State, LSU, and Ole Miss, among others.

The 6-foot-3, 195-pound defender held more than 20 scholarship offers heading into his decision. He is ranked No. 243 in the Rivals Industry Ranking, making him one of the more coveted prospects in the 2027 cycle.
