Texas A&M Lands 5-Star WR Eric McFarland III, Reaches Seven Five-Star Commits in 2027 Class
The IMG Academy standout chose the Aggies over Florida, Georgia and Tennessee on Sunday.
Texas A&M added five-star wide receiver Eric McFarland III to its 2027 recruiting class on Sunday, giving the Aggies seven five-star prospects committed in that cycle.
McFarland, a 5-foot-8, 180-pound pass-catcher from IMG Academy in Florida, is ranked third among wide receivers in his class by ESPN. He selected Texas A&M over offers from Florida, Georgia and Tennessee.
Aggies Win SEC Recruiting Battle
The commitment represents a significant victory over two fellow Southeastern Conference programs, as Texas A&M beat out Florida and Georgia — both perennial recruiting powers — to secure McFarland's pledge.
McFarland is regarded as one of the top wide receivers in the 2027 recruiting cycle. His addition continues a strong run at the position for the Aggies, who have built notable depth at wide receiver within the class.
The commitment also represents a boost to the offensive side of Texas A&M's recruiting class, which had previously drawn attention largely for its defensive additions. With seven five-star commits now in the fold, the Aggies' 2027 class has established itself as one of the more prominent early assemblies in college football.
Head coach Mike Elko and his staff secured the commitment from the IMG Academy prospect, continuing Texas A&M's run of high-profile recruits in the 2027 class.
