Despite the external noise, several members of Alabama's incoming class went on record with their confidence in DeBoer. Four-star quarterback Trent Seaborn called DeBoer 'a great coach and leader of men' and said the program is being built the right way. Four-star offensive lineman Stafford Willis cited a clear plan for both his development and the program's championship trajectory. Running back Tai Phillips said watching people doubt DeBoer only strengthened his desire to play for Alabama, while tight end Michael Nnabuife, who flipped from Syracuse, pointed to player development and NFL preparation as key factors in his commitment.

Alabama's position in the 2027 recruiting rankings has drawn attention, but according to Rivals national recruiting reporter Adam Gorney, sources indicated the standing does not reflect internal concern. The program has reportedly adopted a more selective approach, prioritizing cultural fit over aggressive NIL spending on prospects unlikely to earn immediate playing time — a strategy that follows two highly rated classes signed under DeBoer. Nick Saban, appearing on The Pat McAfee Show during Media Days, offered measured backing for his successor, saying DeBoer is doing a really good job and acknowledging the role is not an easy one.
