When Miami returned to the practice field on Friday, one of the more compelling storylines along the offensive line involved two freshmen competing for a starting guard job — four-star Ben Congdon and five-star Jackson Cantwell. Congdon, a 6-foot-8, 330-pound lineman, has adjusted rapidly to the speed of college football and carried a strong spring performance into August camp. He has been working with the first team at guard and is making a legitimate push to earn a starting role on Miami's rebuilt offensive line. Cantwell, a five-star prospect, is pushing back, keeping the competition unsettled entering the second week of practice.
