Top-Ranked 2028 DL Kellan Hall Includes Tennessee in Final 12 Schools

Five-star defensive lineman Kellan Hall included Tennessee in his top 12 schools on Sunday, adding a significant name to the Vols' 2028 recruiting board. The 6-foot-4, 265-pound prospect from Christian Academy of Louisville in Louisville, Kentucky, is ranked the No. 1 defensive lineman in the 2028 class and the No. 1 overall player in Kentucky by 247Sports.

Hall's list of 12 schools also includes Oklahoma, Kentucky, Ohio State, Michigan, Georgia, Texas A&M, Miami, LSU, Notre Dame, Texas and Oregon, according to On3's Hayes Fawcett. The group represents a collection of blue-blood programs competing for one of the most coveted prospects in the country nearly two years before the early signing period.

Tennessee's Recruiting Timeline With Hall

Tennessee extended a scholarship offer to Hall during a visit for the Orange & White Game on April 11, 2025. He has since returned to Knoxville three times, with his most recent trip coming for a spring practice on March 28. The repeated visits reflect a sustained level of interest from Hall in the Tennessee program and indicate that the Vols' coaching staff has made the Louisville prospect a priority target in the cycle.

Kentucky was the first program to offer Hall a scholarship, doing so on May 15, 2024. A wide range of additional programs have since extended offers, including Alabama, Florida, Florida State, Notre Dame, Stanford, Wisconsin, Nebraska, Arkansas, Missouri, Maryland, SMU, Northwestern, Louisville, Vanderbilt, Toledo, Southern Miss, Eastern Kentucky, Sacramento State and Miami University.

Tennessee currently holds one commitment in the 2028 class — quarterback Kaden Craft. Landing a prospect of Hall's caliber would substantially elevate the Vols' standing in what remains an early-stage recruiting cycle. No decision timeline has been announced by Hall or his program.
