The final official visit weekend of the summer has arrived, with Notre Dame, Michigan, Texas, and Ole Miss among the programs hosting top 2027 prospects before the upcoming dead period. For many of the nation's top recruits, this weekend is expected to serve as a key benchmark before commitments, flips, and decisions.

Notre Dame will host seven uncommitted targets this weekend, a slight decrease from the 10 who officially visited during the same window last summer. Among the most high-profile visitors is five-star offensive lineman Albert Simien, with the Irish battling Texas A&M and LSU for his commitment. Notre Dame quarterbacks coach Gino Guidugli is also set to host a top quarterback target on campus this weekend.

Irish Recruiting Faces Mixed Signals

The weekend comes on the heels of Notre Dame missing on five-star linebacker Kaden Henderson, a loss that has raised questions about the Irish's 2027 linebacker recruiting outlook. Linebackers coach Brian Jean-Mary figures to play a central role in addressing those concerns going forward.

At Michigan, the Wolverines will host eight uncommitted official visitors during what the program is calling Victors Weekend, with multiple prospects considered strong commitment candidates from that group. Meanwhile, Steve Sarkisian and the Texas staff are also hosting key targets this weekend, with expectations that the Longhorns will have a productive visit period, though no single program is expected to land every prospect it pursues.

Ole Miss is also active heading into the dead period. Pete Golding and his staff have made notable strides in the 2027 class after a quieter spring, and several four-star targets are visiting Oxford this weekend to evaluate the program under its new-look staff.

Across the South Central region and beyond, multiple five-star and Rivals300 prospects are taking visits this weekend, with momentum expected to shift as programs look to secure commitments or navigate potential flips in the weeks ahead.
