Clemson has landed four-star safety Jayden Aparicio-Bailey from Prattville, Ala., in the 2027 recruiting class, defeating the Georgia Bulldogs in one of the summer's most competitive recruiting battles. Aparicio-Bailey announced his commitment to the Tigers on June 27, 2026.

A consensus four-star prospect and Alabama defensive back, Aparicio-Bailey narrowed his finalists to Georgia and Clemson before ultimately siding with the Tigers. He is rated No. 117 in the Rivals300. Originally from California, he plays his high school football in Prattville, roughly 90 minutes from both Tuscaloosa and Auburn.

Clemson's Official Visit Proved to Be the Turning Point

Georgia held the edge for much of the spring, but Clemson's official visit on May 29 shifted the momentum in the Tigers' favor. After more than a year of heavy recruiting by Clemson, head coach Dabo Swinney's program ultimately closed the deal on one of the top safeties in the 2027 cycle.

Aparicio-Bailey joins a growing group of defensive backs committed to Clemson's 2027 class. He is joined by safeties Jarrell Chandler and Harrison Luke, as well as cornerbacks Bryant Robinson and PJ Chancellor. The additions underscore Clemson's continued effort to build depth and talent in the defensive backfield.

For Georgia, the loss marks another setback in the 2027 cycle. The Bulldogs had also missed out on another high-profile recruit, Sean Fox, around the same period, though the program remained in a relatively stable recruiting position overall. Aparicio-Bailey's commitment to Clemson over Georgia represents a significant win for the Tigers in their ongoing effort to stack blue-chip talent in the class.
