Miami Lands Rivals300 Four-Star WR Eli Woodard, Former USC Commit

Miami added a significant piece to its 2027 recruiting class on Tuesday when four-star wide receiver Eli Woodard of Temecula (Calif.) Chaparral committed to the Hurricanes, choosing UM over Cal and UCLA.

Woodard, listed at just over six feet tall and 190 pounds, is rated a four-star prospect by every major recruiting service and is ranked among the Rivals300. He had previously committed to USC in February but backed off that pledge on May 19 before Miami entered the picture as a top priority.

A Dynamic Prospect With Immediate Impact Potential

National analysts from Rivals described Woodard as "dynamic" and someone who "can play as a true freshman" at Miami. CaneSport's film breakdown of Woodard's junior season highlighted what the Hurricanes are adding at the wide receiver position.

Miami had extended an offer to Woodard this offseason and made him a top recruiting priority before securing his commitment Tuesday afternoon. The commitment is seen as a major win on the trail for the Hurricanes program.

With the addition of Woodard, Miami remained at No. 3 in the Rivals Industry national team recruiting rankings. Cal, one of the programs Woodard passed over, still holds a record 2027 recruiting class that includes eight commitments from players ranked among ESPN's top 300 prospects.
